About the
PRISON MISSION

Our mission to serve prison inmates is rooted in our belief that these individuals are "Very Important Persons" in God's Kingdom. Our work is not merely a good deed but a divine calling to follow God's instructions, driven by truth, prayer, and love. Embracing the truth that we are all created in God’s image, we believe each one of us is worthy of respect, regardless of their past mistakes.

The current state of the Philippine prison system exhibits a moral crisis that the Church must address, as it violates the inherent sacredness of human life and contributes to social injustice and inequality. Therefore, our purpose is to champion human dignity, recognizing that all people are ends to be served, not means to be exploited, as we fulfill our role as our "brother's keepers."

OUR GOALS

OUR

HOPE

Our deepest hope is to plant seeds of spiritual transformation in the hearts of inmates, empowering them to sustain a new life in Christ long after their release from prison. We strive to be guided by the wisdom and compassion of the Catholic Church, ensuring that our ministry is defined by empathy and a profound sense of solidarity with our incarcerated brothers and sisters. By recognizing the inherent dignity and unique story of each person we serve, and by modeling our love for one another, we hope to embody the love of Jesus authentically. Ultimately, we believe our role is to provide unwavering support and a prayerful presence, trusting that true change lies in the work of God's hands.

Message from the Founder

JON ESCOTO

Through the Prison Mission, we hope that the compassion of Jesus, and our active empathy for our prison inmates brothers and sisters, set our ministry apart. When the work becomes too many, and the pressures become too much, it can be easy to look at our service as tasks to be accomplished.

May we not forget that each inmate is a PERSON. And this person, bearing the image of God, and redeemed by Jesus, has a unique story. Jesus loves the prisoners because Jesus himself was a prisoner. He knows how they feel. He knows what they need. He feels their pain.

May we have the compassion and empathy of Jesus by becoming intentional in our ‘solidarity’ with our inmate brothers and sisters. Besides, underneath their brightly colored ‘uniform’ shirts, we are the same as they are.

They are like us. We have the same personhood. We even have the same weaknesses. What happened to them can happen to us. As Jesus exhorts us, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31)

Help us fulfill this divine mission. Let us share real hope to our brothers and sisters deprived of liberty.
